The great thing about this excursion is that part of the magic is getting there and back! Both journeys – especially the return – are some of the most scenic drives in the UK, if not the world! Bold claim we know, but our customers absolutely love it….

On the way to Llangollen, we go via Selattyn, which is a very scenic journey. We then stop off at Moreton Park Garden Centre. After the wonderful drive, you might well fancy a coffee and cake at the Costa located there.

You then have some time to enjoy the large garden centre, with thousands of top quality plants and gardening products indoors and outdoors. There are also lots of concession stores – clothing, outdoor clothing, aquatics, garden building and landscaping.

Our next destination is Llangollen itself. Renowned for the surrounding hills, the River Dee, and spectacular scenery, Llangollen has something for every visitor.

There is an impressive range of cafés, bars, Llangollen Horseshoe Pass & Moreton Park Garden Centre hotels, and restaurants to suit every pocket – you’ll be spoilt for choice when choosing your lunch destination.

This small town also has a wealth of independent shops to browse and interesting places to visit. Take a stroll along the Victoria Promenade, picnic in the Riverside Park or watch the river tumble down beneath the bridge.

We then return via the famous Horseshoe Pass! The Horseshoe Pass - in Welsh this is Bwlch yr Oernant translated to “Pass of the Cold Stream” - is a wonderful mountain pass in Denbighshire, North Wales.

The views as you drive through the pass, especially at the top, are truly wonderful and a joy to behold. If there is a better place to drive our executive coaches, we are yet to find it!

This route dates from 1811, and the pass is famous for the many sheep you will see on the meandering drive, sometimes blocking the road.
